When investigating the neuromuscular junction in zebrafish, fluorescent labeling is used. We used red labeling to visualize the motor axons (nerves) and green labeling to visualize the synapses (contact points) of these axons on the muscles. When the two overlap, contact is made and a new colour emerges: yellow. This yellow overlap shows the neuromuscular junction. On the cover, this process is represented in an abstract manner. A pattern is created using two inks. Blue dashes depict the endings of motor nerves and red crosses the contact points on the muscles. Where the two overlap, contact is made. In printing, a new colour emerges.
